The aged Celtic New Year festival of Samhain became known in Christian times as Halloween when like many other aged Celtic festivals it was adapted by Christianity. It marks the end of Celtic pastoral year when the herds of domesticated animals were led back to the security of their stalls for the winter and the starting of the new year which is marked by aged customs of ritual cleansing and renewal. Great splendid, dramatic and frightful events occur at this time and it is the occasion of joyful celebration.

Throughout the Celtic world, all fires were extinguished and ritually reignited from the sacred druidic ceremonial fires. All night the landscape was illuminated by countless sacred fires. It was a magical and very spiritual time when the divorce in the middle of the earthly world and the Otherworld disappeared and for a occasion man and spirit had free access to the Other’s world. Magical horses, bulls and birds, fairies and other strange and breathtaking creatures are said to have wandered freely about the land.

Some tales tell of two young men tempted into crossing over by a beautiful fairy woman into a house full of revelers, who are feasting and dancing wildly. There one of the young men accept a cup of fairy wine while his companion leaves. The companion returns on the morrow only to find friend, house and women vanished, not to be seen again until the following Halloween when they and the young man are seen again, still dancing.

And there are many more stories too numerous to mention here.

One of the finest Romanian sculptors, Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957), was born in a poor family in the county of Oltenia. He was the first one to activate ‘Modern Art’ straight through his work. Constantin’s creative study commenced with Craftsmanships School, Craiova, while 1894-98. The National School of Fine Arts, Bucharest, was his next destination for 1898-1902. He ultimately made it straight through to École des Beaux-Art, Paris (1905-7). while his school days, he sculpted the bust of Gheorghe Chitu, followed by Carol Davila’s bust, and Nicolae Darascu’s portrait among many more that helped him select his line of profession. His most preeminent work, a group of sculptures, “Bird in Space,” (1923) is one of the most creative monuments. Constantin’s earlier work “Maiastra (a pretty golden bird in Romanian folklore),” became the inspiration for “Bird in Space.”

Brancusi, being a methodical person, adopted a systematic approach towards his creations and worked upon them in stages. The same was the fate of “Bird in Space,” with its approximately 20 bronze & marble versions created over the next twenty years. Brancusi’s customary “Bird in Space” was created in his Paris studio. Thereafter, it was transportable to New York. For more than nineteen years, Brancusi had fantasized about the view of a bird’s flight. As a result, he did not focus on the corporal aspects of a bird, and only captured a holistic view of its flight. He did not carve the features and the wings of the bird, but had just lengthened the bulge of the body. In addition, the size of the skull and the beak of the bird were condensed to a leaning egg-shaped plane.

Bird

The ‘Abstract’ sculpture, “Bird in Space” beautifully captures the spirit of a bird’s flight, as a chain of sixteen sculptures. Nine of these sculptures were set in bronze, while seven were in marble. “Bird in Space” not only brought smiles amongst art lover, but also had its share of controversies. The state court in the Us had to be complicated in settling down the tax dispute for this painting, as the Us convention authorities had levied heavy duty on the statue by categorizing it as a duty bound product. Brancusi argued that the group of statues is artwork and not material.

Constantin Brancusi’s work carried modern Art very well, while also maintaining the synchronization, poise, and the human touch of the European Art form. His personalized work cannot be described as futuristic, as it captures subtle expressions, highlighting the medieval legacy, the greater degree of imagination, and the simplicity of ‘Primal Art.’ It also conveys his philosophical hold on the innate soul of formation, which supplementary incorporated his stylish touch of modern Art. This painting embossed its name in history books, when it was auctioned for a whopping .5 million, in the year 2005. The customary “Bird in Space” sculptures are presently displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

My love affair with emu oil products started out straight through a fascination I have with tattoos. I started researching distinct ways to care for new tattoos and somewhere I had picked up the association between emu oil and tattoos.

I started researching emu oil and became fascinated with all I was finding out about it. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It all seemed too good to be true. Could this oil from this flightless bird from Australia authentically do all they were saying that it could? I had to find out.

Bird

I found one manufacturer that wanted over a hundred dollars for an emu oil concoction for the face to preclude wrinkles. This was not what I was finding for. I wanted to test the full range of their products out, because as a website owner, I was concerned in putting it up on my website if it turned out to be a good product.

After researching several emu oil manufacturers, I finally settled one that met my criteria. I wanted person who raised their birds humanely, and that did not use any increase hormones, or and other additives in the bird’s feed. I also wanted to find a source of good 100% pure emu oil that did not smell and that was fully refined and that sold their emu oil at a decent price.

I contacted several manufacturers of emu oil until I finally found a source that fit my bill. Then I bit the bullet and ordered every stock that they made. I couldn’t wait until my emu oil products arrived.

Let me tell you a little bit about the properties of emu oil, and see if you aren’t a bit fascinated too. Emu oil has 3 main properties, healing, anti-aging and moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory. Along with these 3 properties it is also non-comedogenic, anti-bacterial, and it has the ability to jab straight through all 7 layers of the skin right down to the basal layer roughly immediately. There is no other oil that has the ability to do that.

The ability to jab the skin so fast makes it a great carrier for other herbs and healing agents. If other herbs and healing agents are mixed with emu oil they are carried directly to the basal layer of your skin and therefore users see quick results when they use any of these products.

I have several uses for the oil personally so I figured that I was a good test subject.

Let’s start off with the healing, anti-aging and moisturizing properties. I have a bad complexion, and all the time have had. I pick at my face even though that is a no-no. I sometimes have little sores on my face from picking. I am also 54 years old and have plentifulness of fine lines and wrinkles on my face. So I started using the oil on my face to see what would happen.

I couldn’t believe what happened after the first application of the oil. All of those little blackheads that clog the pores came popping to the surface of my skin. My little sores from picking immediately scabbed over – and started healing up. I have cleared up all my pimples, and my bumpy rough skin is becoming level and soft – wait – it is level and soft after using the emu oil diligently twice a day on my face for two months.

There is a noticeable turn in my complexion. I have had comments from others, without fishing for them on my improved complexion. I have been told that my face looks fresher and that it is smoother finding than it used to be. You can’t beat that with a stick as far as I am concerned. I all the time notion I would just have to live with my acne scars and rough complexion. Now I know I too can have a level complexion as long as apply the emu oil to my skin.

My cat had a sore on its back. I put the emu oil on the sore, and it was overwhelming how quickly the cat’s back healed up and new hair grew in. The cat did not have any problems with the application of the oil either; it was like putting water on the sore. The cat didn’t seem to have a problem with me putting the oil on it at all.

I have a bad back. My back is so bad that sometimes I have mystery walking right. I have severe pain from my back problems. I have osteoarthritis, and spondylolisthesis, which is a displacement of the bones in my spine.

Nothing will make me forget the day I put on the Emu Oil arduous Pain relief stock from this manufacturer. My back pain disappeared immediately. Just like that it was gone. For the first time in years I was pain free in my back. I will never forget that moment.

The arduous Pain Relief is an example of a stock that has other herbs and added ingredients to the emu oil. The pain relief was not permanent, but it was overwhelming to me, all the same. I use this stock when I do the dishes, mop the floor, or want to do some gardening. It has given me a new lease on life – literally. I can do things now that I couldn’t tolerate doing before, even on my pain medication.

I love the emu oil body mist for after my showers. It keeps me refreshed all day long. I just love these products and am so happy that I found them. I wouldn’t have believed that I would be so fixated on something like emu oil, but after using these products, I authentically am.

You might be wondering just what else emu oil is good for. Here is a list of conditions that benefit from the use of emu oil:

One last thing before I end this personal laid out of my perceive with emu oil. My neighbor’s sister bought some emu oil from somewhere, I don’t know where. Her bottle of emu oil is hard and must be warmed up to use. This is not what the products that I use are like. The products that I use are soft, gentle, and quite overwhelming to the feel and touch.

If you wind up with a bottle of emu oil that contains oil that is hard, or that smells funny, you should try buying some emu again from an additional one source. That is not what good emu oil is like. It does not smell, and it is not hard.

By the way, if you are a vegetarian, I am afraid this oil is not for you as it comes from an animal and not a plant.

If you have any of the problems that are listed above you might want to check this overwhelming golden oil out. You might just be surprised at all of the uses you will find for it. I have been using the emu oil on my elbows and feet also, what a vast improvement!

Emu oil truly is the “Wonder from down under!”

Not counting stray dogs, spellbinding cats and the neighbor’s children, there are more than 100,000 pests, fungus or insects which a gardener may have to face, although the varieties in the mean garden may not run to above 500, and the majority of these may be present in insignificant proportion.

The proximity of pests to the extent of interfering seriously with the success of the garden is at once a challenge and a comment of the gardener’s skill. Biologically it suggests that some phase or phases of gardening operations are being neglected.

Bird Count

The best resistance to human disease is a state of vigorous robust health. The ideal conditions of pest prevention and control are established by the cultivation of the essentials of a salutary environment in the garden. We are a long way from understanding why Nature lets loose her plagues upon us, but it is confident that spellbinding conditions must be present before they do descend.

Cleanliness both in the soil and on top of it, at all seasons, is the garden’s best pest repellent. Insect pests, fungi, and viruses all like extreme amounts of rubbish. Fungi over winter in diseased plant material. Their spores rest in the soil. Insects reside in and below weeds, nearby hedge bottoms, and in the soil. Old stick and rotting wood, give cover to slugs, snails, millipedes, and woodlice.

The soil itself harbors many types of fungus spores, insect eggs and larvae. But for their survival these pests need non-disturbance. Cultivating the soil as much as possible before planting, and ordinarily after planting, exposes the soil to sunlight and its sterilizing rays, and uncovers insect eggs and grubs to the attentiveness of birds notably the Robin, who will devour anything you have to offer. Hoeing and weeding while crop growth weakens the pest’s foothold by their constant disturbance.

Aeration plays its part in controlling pests. Damp still air fosters mildew and blight. Allowable spacing of plants allows air to circulate, and lowers ground humidity, with benefit to growth. Many pests and plant diseases detest sunlight. Its sterilizing rays are of infinite value in checking blight. Allowable spacing, cutting back high hedges, and right pruning of trees should ensure that every part of the garden receives a daily quota of sunlight.

The wise gardener is alert to the expand being made in the long-term course of eradicating plant trouble by the breeding of disease unyielding strains of seeds and plants. Some varieties of vegetables have been bred unyielding to disease coarse to their kind. confident types of seeds are more unyielding in some soils than others. Study of the seed catalogues is amply repaid when it leads to the option of seed most likely to sprout into salutary seedlings and vigorous plants.

The final recourse of the gardener in his fight against the unending plague of garden pests is to get out the spraying motor and go into action with destroying insecticides and fungicides. Chemical methods of pest control furnish only part of the rejoinder to our problems.

September Tip

Every grower has room for stick or runner beans in their gardens, these beans are best picked small and fresh about 6-7 inches in length not long and stringy. The growing of stick beans has long fascinated me. We have grown them in all areas of our farm in Herefordshire trying to increase the time we can pick for sale straight through our farm shops, for many years.

About 12 years ago I hit on the idea to increase the growing and selling time of these lovely vegetables, this process is not new it was used in the 1940′s and 50′s by store gardeners until the economy alternatives started to arrive from many of the Southern African colonies, but now with the rise in delivery costs hitting all countries the price for imported none G.M. Crops is about to go straight through the roof.

You have the means to increase the growing of not only Beans but all vegetables. The method we use for Beans is late in September cut the bean stem to about 6 inches from the root, stripping away any old leaves, then let the plant sit for about 2 weeks, the area where you removed the old leaves new shoots will start to grow, once the shoots are about 1 inch long the whole plant should be lifted and potted up, the plant will have a large root system so a 9 or 10 inch pot will be needed the plant or plants can be left outside until the middle of October and then brought inside where the frost can not penetrate, let the plant grow on, staking when Necessary.

By nearby Christmas you will be picking Beans again, after Christmas there may be a need to pollinate by hand but we found this was not needed. Using this method we were able to get prices at store of nearby 6 pounds per Kg.
